NOVGOROD is Novgrod's near-self-titled album. Because it felt like the right time for a self-titled, but naming a record after yourself is a bit goofy. In terms of sound, themes and approach, the record is a culmination of everything Novgrod has been doing in recent years. It rattles along, yet there are more layers, details and choruses than ever before. It's filled with irony and double meanings that no one will ever figure out. It has two songs about love and a couple about failed artists. And one about old people who pull their guns when a demonstration passes by. Its the first Novgrod-record to appear on vinyl, and that in times of crisis. Just to say how proud he is of the record.
